Data center emissions

Data centers and data transmission networks are significant contributors to energy-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, accounting for nearly 1% of the total. These emissions play a role in global warming and climate change, necessitating substantial reductions to meet environmental targets. Efforts to reduce these emissions are crucial for achieving the Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario, with a goal to halve them by 2030.
