DNA Batteries

Biodegradable batteries that utilize DNA molecules for energy storage, developed through a collaboration involving Touchlight, the Minteer group, the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), and the Office of Naval Research (ONR) from the US Department of Defense. These batteries aim to provide a sustainable and biodegradable alternative to conventional batteries, such as lithium batteries, thereby reducing environmental impact. DNA bio-batteries are particularly beneficial for applications requiring eco-friendly energy solutions, including military and other specialized uses.
