Emtricitabine

An antiretroviral medication used to treat and prevent HIV/AIDS. It is often used in combination with other antiretroviral agents and works by inhibiting the action of reverse transcriptase, an enzyme crucial for the replication of HIV, thereby reducing the amount of HIV in the body and improving immune system function.
