Post-anesthesia care unit

A critical care unit where patients are closely monitored after receiving anesthesia. In this unit, vital signs are observed, pain management begins, and fluids are administered, with the nursing staff skilled in recognizing and managing any post-anesthesia complications. The PACU primarily serves patients recovering from surgical procedures and operates under the direction of the Department of Anesthesiology.
